I have this teeny tiny laundry room that is set up so terribly. I have been in dire need of a way to have more hanging space. Once we got our front loader and put it on a pedestal it basically took away all of my hanging space. Awesome. I not only wanted more hanging space, but I also wanted my laundry room to be cute. I spend a lot of time in there and don’t really want to stare at boring walls.
I found an inspiration picture online(which I of course can’t find now to link to). I went to work trying to recreate it. I am not the craftiest of people so I tend to use etsy a lot. No matter what idea I have in my head I can always find someone on etsy who can make it come alive. I also feel like I am supporting small businesses.
Here’s one view of what I’ve done.
The WASH decor is my favorite.
I found the big “W” online at Ballard Designs. I tried to find one on etsy, but I just couldn’t find one big enough…and I wanted it to be big!
For the “A” I got the frame from an etsy shop called Lollipop Figurine. The actual “A” I just cut out of black paper myself. The background paper I will get to a little later in my post.
I got the “S’ from an etsy shop called In Mind 4 U. I basically told her what I wanted and she was able to do a custom order.
I got the “H” from an etsy shop called Pretty Words 4 U. I told her what I had in mind for the patterns and she sent me options that she already had. Once we had decided on a pattern for the front of the “H” and the sides, I also asked her if she would send me an 8×10 page of the side pattern so I could use it in the frame for the “A” portion. She graciously said “No problem”. This is why I love etsy!!
My finished product….Adorable right!?!?
On the other wall you can see I have an Accordion Drying Rack. I have always wanted one and found the perfect one at Ballard Designs. It pulls out to become larger. The turquoise Laundry Room sign is from one my favorite etsy shops called Appalachian Primitive. She is amazing and has done a few different signs for me. She really goes above and beyond to get your exactly what you want. To finish it off I filled a cute glass jar with clothespins.
I still needed a little more hanging space, so on another wall I added this.
It folds down when you want to use it, otherwise you can just fold it back up. I found this nifty little contraption at The Container Store. Since hanging it on the wall by itself really isn’t that cute I added a frame around it. Another frame from Lollipop Figurine. I told her the measurements I needed, since I had to make sure it was long enough for the hanger to be folded up, and she was able to make it for me.
There you have it….my teeny tiny laundry room redo. Still small, but at least it’s a little cuter now!
